Hello! My name is Jewel Banik, and I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Goins Lab at Stanford University. I earned my PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2023, where my research focused on the regulation of mRNA translation in pituitary plasticity using proteomics and single-cell RNA sequencing. At Stanford, my work investigates how Wnt signaling pathways regulate the cell cycle and cell fate decisions in hematopoiesis. My work is supported by the School of Medicine’s Dean’s Postdoctoral Fellowship (2024–2025). Originally from Bangladesh, I came to the U.S. for graduate school and have since embraced a love for outdoor adventures, music, and cooking—whether that’s camping, swimming, playing guitar, or perfecting dessert recipes.
